Job Title: Chief Accounting Officer

Function: The Chief Accounting Officer will oversee all aspects of CAI’s accounting operations. In this leadership role, the CAO provides strategic thinking to develop and implement financial decisions that support long-term goals, ensure financial stability, and drive profitability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategic Partnerships
• Lead and manage the accounting and finance department, overseeing all financial reporting, tax planning, and other projects.
• Maintain strong relationships with audit firms and tax consultants, and other advisors.
• Partner with the CEO and other executive leaders to develop financial strategies and provide insights on business performance.
• Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with CAI’s mission and business objectives.
• Oversee the training and development of the accounting team.
Reporting and Compliance
• Oversee the financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all accounting standards and regulations.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Ensure compliance with J-SOX, including the testing and documentation of internal controls.
• Oversee payroll to ensure timely and accurate processing of salaries, bonuses, and other compensation.
• Lead the preparation for upcoming fiscal year changes and adjustments to accounting practices and policies.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, aiming to maintain or shorten the reporting cycle to 5-7 business days.
• Develop and maintain internal control systems to protect company assets, ensure compliance with internal and external policies, and improve accuracy.
Treasury Operations
• Monitor and manage cash flow, treasury management, and working capital to optimize financial resources.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Stay up to date on current financial trends, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Active CPA license.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related.
• Over 10 years of accounting experience, ideally a mix of public accounting and industry experience.
• Extensive experience in managing global accounting operations across multiple countries.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of financial statement analysis, metrics, and reporting.
• Excellent accounting skills with detailed knowledge of US GAAP, in particular fixed asset and lease accounting.
• Strong background with Excel, proficient with Microsoft Suite applications
• Ability to prioritize business needs, meet tight deadlines, and communicate effectively across the organization.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
This position is on a hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office, 2 days working remotely; Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday are mandatory in-office days. The pay range of this role is $240,000 - $270,000 per year depending on experience
